Homing Pigeons

Homing Pigeons fill many roles on our homestead, by selecting for faster growing and larger breasted individuals we have a cost effective source of white meat. We also use these birds in our training of versatile hunting dogs because once released, they return to the coop and can be used again. They are also super fun to trade with a friend for sending leg-attached messages to each other. Not as convenient as a text message, but a lot more fun!
